Story
Hi everyone,
I’m running a 10k on behalf of Mark Sims. Mark
Sims has just turned 27, he had cancer at the age of 15 and thought he had survived. However on the 18th of February, 12 years on from the initial diagnosis, he found out that the cancer has spread. He has a moderate size tumour in his
liver stretching the capsule. Furthermore there are tumours in his lung and
spleen. His story is inspiring, he fought through cancer at my age, having to
go through treatment at only 15 must have been very hard. He recovered and
spent the next 12 years of his life becoming a doctor so that he could help others. He had been training for a run as well days before he had been diagnosed, his
run much harder than mine: a half marathon. He has gone through so much but has
never stopped fighting. For this reason I ask people to give generously. I am raising money on behalf of Mark and Cancer Research UK. Cancer affects one in
three people during their lifetime, which means it is very likely that someone
you know personally will have their own fight against cancer. However cancer
will one day be defeated, thanks to the money given by everyday people. Please click on the link below to read an article that the Mirror wrote on Mark and his illness. Mark has been given 4 to 18 months to live because of his cancer. He has never stopped raising money for others. He has been a hero in his attitude in facing the cancer. Now it's our time to raise money
for him.
Thank you so much for all your support.
