We aim to raise awareness of the medical issues commonly associated with autism. We believe many children and adults with autism are medically ill, and when their needs are properly assessed and appropriately treated, health, behaviour and quality of life can be improved.

Story

Davina's story: What do you do if you have a dream, something you'd really love to do, but you believe you will never be able to do it?  One day a friend sent me a link to a video of two amazing dancers performing a beautiful latin dance routine (bachata) and I fell in love with it. I thought there was no way I would be able to do such a complex dance, as I was hopeless at dancing. There were 2 options: either to forget all about it, or find a way of overcoming my beliefs about myself and my abilities. I chose the latter and committed to performing the dance in public to raise money for a wonderful charity, which does amazing work with parents & children. Then I met George, a kind-hearted, funny, patient, dynamic & inspirational salsa & latin dance teacher, who offered to help me learn the routine. We are having great fun learning it and spend as much time laughing as dancing. We are going to perform it in public in Oxford on Oct 12th.

George's story: Let's dance! I was introduced to Davina through a mutual friend. When she was telling her story, I knew my answer would be "yes" instantly, as it was great to be able to help someone achieve her dream and raise money for an autism charity at the same time. The bachata routine is a classic dance routine and we are going through the steps, getting it right or wrong, with lots of laughs along the way. Davina's smile is infectious and I am very pleased to be part of this life experience, and to have found a new friend. Bring it on!
