Story
Hi, I'm Davinia Graves a veterinary nurse at Northampton Vets4pets Hospital.
I recently adopted my new puppy "Star" (aka Faith) from Northampton RSPCA branch.
Star was handed into the RSPCA after being found in a Bush. She was collapsed ,cold, malnourished and very nearly dead. Star was brought into my work at Northampton Vets4pets Hospital where she was very quickly placed on a drip and into a heated kennel. It was touch and go if she would survive due to how poorly she was. Within about 4 hours she started to show signs of some improvement, after another few hours to our teams amazement she was sitting up! Star was offered some food and miraculously ate very well. The vet Jenny Millington aged her at about 6 weeks of age and said she is very lucky to be alive. She stayed in the hospital for 24 hours before going back to a fosterer at the RSPCA Northampton branch to continue her care.
Stars treatment was not cheap for the RSPCA so I would like to fundraise to the branch as they do such a great job with all the animals in their care.
Last year I had to say bye to my old rescue dog so I had been waiting for a rescue dog/puppy to come along so when Star came in it seemed it was meant to be. She really is a lovely dog. We have no idea of her breed so we are excited to see how she will grow.
I will be walking Ben Nevis to raise money for Northampton RSPCA with my husband, brother and of course Star will be there too.⭐
I will only walk Star if she is ok to do so, I will take a carrier if needed.
The Northamptonshire Branch of the RSPCA is an independent charity organisation committed to providing animal welfare services within Northamptonshire. The Branch is affiliated to the National RSPCA, but is a separate registered charity responsible for raising its own funds locally. All money raised by the branch through fundraising, house to house collections, sponsored events and charity shops is spent on Northamptonshire animals.
