Lifes Little Obstacles

Spartan Race - South East · 18 April 2020 ·
My daughter Scarlotte has Down syndrome and Turner syndrome. Since birth her development has been at a slower pace than typically developing children. She has learning difficulties, speech delay, growth problems, hearing problems and has recently developed scoliosis.
At 12 years old she has taught me more about overcoming “Life’s Little Obstacles” than anyone else I know. Watching her grow and develop at her own pace over the years, often finding every day tasks more challenging that you or I take for granted on a daily basis, has been both tiring and rewarding at the same time.
I have in the past felt isolated and different to other parents due to her additional needs but she has proved to me on so many occasions that with determination and patience, you can reach your goals and that gives me an enormous feeling of love and pride for her.
Now as a single parent family, we have different challenges ahead of us which we did not expect to be facing. I wanted to give something back to Scarlotte for all her achievements and show both my children that no matter what obstacles are put in our path, we will get over them... together.
I will be taking part in Spartan where by I will be faced with lots of obstacles to over come, running, and of course plenty of mud! So please help me raise some funds for Down Syndrome Extra 21 who do a fantastic job supporting and educating families like mine.
Thank you so much for your kind donations.
With love, The Parsall Three ❤️💙💚
