Story
Deacon Jim Griffin, who died suddenly at the beginning of 2011, was a great advocate for youth ministry, reaching much further than just the parishes in which he lived.
Many people in the parish of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Gt Missenden, Bucks; the Diocese of Northampton and further afield have said that they’d like to support a project in his memory.
Working with Avril from Northampton Youth Ministry Office, we plan to give someone a good basis for youth ministry through a two year Foundation Degree in Youth Ministry at St Mary’s University College together with 2 days a week essential work experience at NYMO from September 2012. Avril will select a suitable candidate and manage and direct that person within her team. This will help ensure the best outcome both for the candidate and for Youth Ministry in the Diocese of Northampton.
The total costs would be up to £30,000 and we’ve secured a major part of the University fees and some other funding.
Please help us achieve our goal
All monies raised will be used to support training for Youth Ministry in the Diocese of Northampton. We’d be delighted to answer any questions about this project and the Foundation Degree in Youth Ministry.
