Snowdon Climb · 4 September 2010
In November 2009 I went on a school reunion and some truly incredible friendships have been re-connected as a result. The saddest part has been discovering that one of our school friends’ son’s, Rob Holland, died aged just 15 from a rare teenage cancer tumor.
I never knew Rob but from what I have gleamed from his mum Amanda, he was an amazing young man who despite his illness set up ‘Rob’s ARTTT’ to raise money to fund research into this rare condition. Rob will never be forgotten, not only because he has touched so many lives, mine included, but also because his mum tirelessly raises funds for his cause in the hope that no one else suffers in the same way.
On 4th September 2010, the third anniversary of the day Rob succumbed to his battle with cancer, Amanda will lead a walk up Snowdon in memory of her son and to raise funds for his charity. Together with a bunch of people I went to school with, their kids and including my three, whom I am proud to call my very good friends, we will follow Amanda up Snowdon. Please sponsor us.
Rob and Amanda, you are one of life’s rare commodities – a true inspiration.
