Great North Run 2016 · 11 September 2016 ·

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.

Story

Hi everyone,

Thank you for taking a look at our just giving page. Alec and I are taking part in the great north run again to raise funds for the sick children's trust.

This is a truly amazing charity. The sick children's trust run 'home from homes' at paediatric hospitals. This allows parents to stay close to their child when they are under going treatment. We have stayed in the 'home from home' at the Freeman hospital twice. Scott House kept us together as a family when we needed to be together the most. It allowed us to heal together and be with Joseph every step of the way. Last year we did some training for the great north run whilst staying in Scott House as Joseph was in intensive care. This provided a much needed distraction but we are very happy to be training at home this year with a very healthy and happy baby!

We are incredibly thankful that this charity exists and would like to give back something back to them to help them carry on providing this amazing service.

Please help us along and give some of your hard earned money to this amazing charity.
