Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in a family funwalk on 22nd May to raise money for St Christopher's Hospice in Sydenham. As you all know, I lost my brave, young son Ben, aged 22, to Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in 2005 and after a long 2 and a half year battle he ended his journey at St Christopher's Hospice where they not only took care of his needs but the needs of his family and friends as well.
After Ben had been there for 2 days, he asked me, "Mum, why do people have to be dying before they get this kind of care?” It is this 'kind of care' that also led me to work full time for St Christopher's because I believe 100% in what they do.
St Christopher's is a registered charity. It costs over £14 million every year to deliver all their services. Only about one third of their income comes from the NHS. They must raise more than £9 million to continue to deliver patient and family services free of charge.
St Christopher's rely on donations to continue caring for dying people and those close to them.
So please help by donating on this page and sponsoring me to walk 11 miles, I will be walking in fancy dress as Aunt Sally (with good old Worzel accompanying me)
So please dig deep and donate.
