Brighton Marathon 2022 · 10 April 2022 ·
I am taking on the Brighton Marathon this April 2022. This one is an important one.
It has given me a focus on my training again following the arduous lockdowns. But, most importantly, I am running in memory of Stephen Holland.
My best friend in the whole world, Nadia, sadly lost her partner Stephen very suddenly last year to SADS.
Stephen was the best. As well as always making the time to be there for his loved ones he was a super active guy. He liked heading out for a cycle and playing 5-a-side Footy every Thursday with his mates.
Last year I witnessed my best friend go through the worst thing she could ever possibly go through. I am still, and forever will be, in complete awe of her. I don’t think she quite realises how strong and special she is.
I am determined to do this for our Stevo, Stephen’s parents Liz&Tom, Stephen’s son Noah, and for my best friend Nadia. As well as Stephens wider friends and family.
I am so proud of each and every one of them.
With your support I will be attempting to raise funds and awareness for the incredible charity SADS UK.
The cardiac charity SADS UK aims to save lives, providing information, funding research and medical equipment to prevent premature sudden cardiac death.
The aim is to, at the very least, raise enough funds to have public access to a defibrillator for Stephen’s sons school where the pupils play sports and where Stephen played his weekly football.
The more money and awareness we raise, the more I will keep running with an aim to take on the West Highland Way in the near future.
