St Luke's Hospice (Harrow And Brent) - Shropshire Way Sponsored Walk · 28 April 2011 ·

St Luke’s is the local hospice for Harrow and Brent. We care for people whose illnesses are no longer curable, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life during the final stages of their illness. We are proud to offer all of our services free of charge.

Story

The annual fund-raising walk for St Luke's Hospice is the Shropshire Way this year. We will be walking about 75 miles from Clun to Church Stretton over the first May bank holiday weekend.

This will be Hugo's 13th walk - he has walked about 900 miles so far...

Hugo is a trustee of St Lukes, which provides palliative and hospice care in Harrow and Brent. The running costs are over £3.5 million a year and the annual walk is one of the major fund-rasing events.

We are [of course!] paying all the costs involved [travel, accommodation, back-up organisation] and the minimum sponsorship ourselves but we want to help the hospice raise as much as possible by asking anyone who can to contribute something.

Tax can be reclaimed through GiftAid on any amount, large or small. In previous years this has added over £10,000 to amount raised for the hospice from the annual walk.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. St Lukes Hospice will not automatically put donors onto a database. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. Your donation does not need to be made public on this website.
