Story

I have decided to take part in this trek to raise vital funds for the USPCA so they can continue to fund veterinary care for animals belonging to owners who can't afford veterinary treatment. They also work tirelessly in the area of animal welfare and prevention of cruelty.  As a veterinary surgeon, I have been proud to work with them over the last two years, both full time and now part time. They are a great team of staff and work well together in the animal hospital in Newry. I have seen first hand and worked with many cases where there has been cruelty and neglect, also where people have struggled to provide veterinary care for their animals, it's rewarding to be involved in a situation where we can provide that care. Some of the reasons I became a veterinary surgeon included working with animals, at the very basic level preventing cruelty, educating owners and ensuring animal health.

I am keen to complete the personal challenge of the trek in combination with raising the £3250 funds to participate. I have started raising this money with other activities, collecting at Newry show started off the funds with nearly £100, I have numerous other fundraising ideas in the pipeline and would like to raise £500 from this Just Giving page, maybe this is optimistic, am hoping my friends and family will help

I will keep you posted on progress, thank you
