Throughout my working career I recognised that society needs to concentrate its efforts on those young people growing up without adequate family support, those adults who lack the confidence, skills and education that allow them to get and hold down a job, and those families where disadvantage is passed on through the generations. 

The reason I support Surrey Care Trust, both through being a Trustee and, with my wife Louise, undertaking the Surrey 5 Peaks challenge this year, is because they are willing to take a risk in working with some of the most challenging and vulnerable people is Surrey. In doing so, they make Surrey a better, fairer and safer community for us all to live in.
