Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2015 · 23 January 2015 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Hello,

My name is Dennis, I am a member of the Royal Air Force currently seconded to BAE Systems based out in Saudi Arabia. I am running the Dubai Marathon in January and because running a marathon in a Middle East country is not hard enough, I am going to run it wearing a GAS mask, the military issue General Service Respirator. The reasons I am doing this are that I would like to raise awareness and much needed funding for this amazing charity (MND Association) as it effects our families and our friends. The second reason and there are no promises here... I am going to try and break the World Record for running a marathon in a GAS mask which is currently set at 3 hours 28 minutes.

Thank you for your time and support.

Dennis Sumner. ;-)
