Devenish Group Farm Africa Fundraising · 9 March 2015

We are an international organisation working to build a prosperous rural Africa. We help farmers to increase their harvests, build their incomes and sustain natural resources, partnering with governments and the private sector to find effective ways to fight poverty.

Story

The next challenge for the Devenish Group is the Gran Fondo, part of the Giro D'Italia which allows riders the chance to join a stage of the famous cycle race. Alison Brewster, Mike Alcorn and Alan Bristow are all taking part.

Why?

It’s shocking that hunger kills more people each year then AIDS, TB andmalaria combined.

Farm Africa’s work is not about short-term food aid or quick-fixsolutions. It’s about working on the ground to help Africa’s families feedthemselves, for the long term.

Farm Africa’s local staff provide the tools and expertise to enablesmallholders in eastern Africa to increase their harvests, whether they farmcrops, livestock, fish or the forest. They train them to be more commercial, adding value to surpluses by milling, drying, or turning their produce intoproducts that fetch a higher price.

With better food for their families and reliable incomes from theirbusinesses, farmers can build for the future.
