Hero Ride 2016 - Dawn Raid
Bikes and I do not get on.
When I was 11, I fell off my bike racing a friend and smashed both of my front teeth. Still to this day, I am paying for this. Every time I see the dentist an extortionately high bill is given to me.
I've worked at H4H for 4 years, that's 1,500 days. And on most of these days, I have been asked 'when are you going to do a challenge?'. Someone even signed me up for the London Marathon without asking me whether I wanted to run, or could finish it. They are a persistent bunch who don't seem to get the hint that I'm not a natural exerciser.
Finally, after a lot of persuasion and someone saying they would do a bike ride if I did, I have signed myself up for a dreaded 50 miles! Giving this some context, I have agreed to cycle the length of the Panama Canal before breakfast (and people know how grumpy I am before I eat).
So, now you know my hatred of cycling, please sponsor me! H4H does exactly what it says on the tin and loads of people have better lives because of the charity's support.
Wish me luck, and send me chamois cream!
