Dhanisha Chauhan is raising money for Voluntary Service Overseas
Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page. This is something I have always wanted to get involved in and I am extremely excited to say I have been selected to volunteer overseas with VSO on an International Citizen Service (ICS) placement.
VSO is an international development charity with a "vision for a world without poverty". VSO works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. I will be going to Zambia for three months where I will be a part of a team of VSO volunteers to support a health and livelihoods project within the local community of Nyimba.
Nyimba is situated in Zambia's Eastern Province, where 78% of people like below the poverty line. The project I am taking part in will help promote sexual and reproductive health and rights to reduce HIV and AIDS, alongside working with small entrepreneurs to help their businesses grow.
As a part of this incredible cause, one of my commitments is to raise £800. My place on the placement is already paid for - including travel, visas, medical insurance, vaccines, food, everything! All donations will go directly to VSO to help the fight against poverty. Donations will ensure VSO can continue to send youth volunteers to the developing world to continue the vital work undertaken to help make a difference.
I'll be doing various fundraising events over the next couple of months to raise money. Any donations, big or small will honestly be so appreciated!
