Story
A random spur of a moment made me sign up for the marathon. Running isn't exactly a strength of mine but I thought I'll take on the mental and physical challenge, give it my best shot and hopefully, come out stronger at the end. The ultimate aim: Just finish the 26.2 miles
Barts Charity is a charity that aims to provide excellence in healthcare, above and beyond that already offered by our amazing NHS. The charity
funds projects within the Barts NHS Trust and Barts & The London Medical School, with the hope to provide initiatives that aren't available on the NHS.
I am hoping to raise funds for the Centre of Trauma Sciences. They perform ground breaking research into trauma medicine (including brain/spinal cord injury, bleeding and organ failure), and work closely with the London Ambulance services, both in the air and on the ground, to try save as many lives as possible. Away from the research, they also provide further education opportunities and educate children through interactive workshops in the Centre of the Cell, based in the medical school.
100% of the donations goes to the Centre of Trauma Sciences, so any money/support you provide will be appreciated very very much.
Thanks so much for reading and if you're out marathon cheering in London on the 24th April, I'll hopefully see you there! :)
