Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

As some of you may know in 2009, after my first mammogram, (yes I had reached the age of 50!) a small lump was detected. The biopsy revealed that it was cancer. Very quickly I underwent surgery at Derriford Hospital to remove the lump. This proved to be a successful operation and so far all is clear.

I decided to do a sponsored walk in aid of Breakthrough, a breast cancer charity and came up with the idea to walk the Thames Path.I have selected to do 101 miles from Henley on Thames to the Source. To help me achieve this I started walking to work during the winter of 2011 and going to fitness classes and swimming. The walks are now getting longer and my fitness is getting better but it will still be a challenge to do the 101 miles.

We are taking our caravan to use as a base and the caravan club have very kindly waived the campsite fees (Thankyou!)
