Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been involved with Romsey Mill since 1992. It is a charity very close to my heart and my husband and both my children have also worked for 'the Mill'.  The current Covid-19 crisis presents a challenge to us all. Romsey Mill’s priority is the safeguarding of vulnerable and at risk children, young people and families, and our teams have continued to offer support during this time, providing care and education for the children of key workers and the most vulnerable families at Romsey Mill Centre as well as through phone / video calls, online support groups and resources. Team members are also part of the coordination of practical help to local communities.

Romsey Mill is already experiencing loss of the vital funds we need to operate (as our charity and coffee shops close, room hire has stopped and fundraising from events is hit), and a prolonged situation would put the charity at serious financial risk.  As I undertake this challenge, I would be so grateful if you would consider supporting me in donating to Romsey Mill - however small, your donation is hugely appreciated.

Why cycle 4000 miles? On (and including)16th April, there will be 260 days left of 2020. I aim to cycle 4000 miles between 16th April and 31st December 2020. This is an average of 15.5 miles a day - which happens to be the distance of my combined journey to and from Romsey MillAs many of you know, I am a severe asthmatic, so although 15 miles may not seem that far, it is quite a feat for me, and certainly a feat to do it day in, day out for the rest of the year. I may not be able to cycle every day depending on my health, which means that on other days I will need to cycle further, but I believe I can reach the goal of 4000.
