Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year, I’m running the Great North Run! Yes, I know what you are thinking, but I’m running in the hope of raising money for the Anthony Nolan transplant trust, a pioneering charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer who need a blood stem cell or bone marrow transplant, who do such fantastic work all over the world and especially in the North East at our very own Freeman Hospital.
The charity is something close to my heart as four years ago my brother in law was diagnosed with Leukaemia and has since undergone a bone marrow transplant at the Sir Bobby Robson NCCC unit at the Freeman Hospital. The amazing work of the consultants, the nurses, doctors and in fact all the team at the Freeman convinced me to try to help raise some much needed funds in any way I could. The Great North Run seemed like a good idea at the time!
If the wind persists and blows in the right direction, I’m hoping to complete the run in a couple of hours. If it slows up, I guess I’m hoping to finish sometime midweek!!!
Seriously, all help and support will be greatly appreciated
