3clockschallenge · 29 April 2023
After finishing my treatment for breast cancer I felt so incredibly lucky to have survived. I have tried to support charities ever since. This time I have chosen the Stroke Association and it will be my biggest ever challenge.
On April 29th,2023, I will begin a three week walk starting at Big Ben in London walking to the Eastgate Clock in Chester and then on to the Millennium Clock in Penyffordd, the village where I live in North Wales.
I will make the journey as far as possible along the canals and friends and family will join me along the way. It is approximately 257 miles.
We have seen the devastating effects that stroke can have on people, not only for the person them self but also for their family. My hope is that in some small way the money raised from this can help the process of recovery for those affected by stroke.
Below is a paragraph written by the Stroke Association explaining more. Thank you to everyone who supports me
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
