Each year there are 100,000 strokes in the UK, with 1 in 4 happening to somebody of working age or younger.  It was a surprise when I joined their number in 2001.

Different Strokes aims to promote independent stroke recovery and help younger stroke survivors reclaim their lives www.differentstrokes.co.uk.  Although it is a UK charity and UK focused, they provide a wealth of information on line, which is available internationally.

My son, Will and I are planning to run a half marathon on the Seven Sisters on the south coast to raise funds for them.

In the interests of full disclosure:-
