Esme's Dip4Dementia

Dip4Dementia · 29 November 2020
Someone develops dementia every three minutes and our family has felt the effects of this horrible illness for a number of generations.
Esme (11years old) is my wonderful daughter and she has decided to use her bonkers passion for open water swimming to try and raise some much needed funds for Dementia Adventure, who help people to keep enjoying adventures. Yes you heard right Adventure WITH Dementia.
The challenge will involve Esme swimming outdoors at least once a month throughout the whole winter. She has done 2 months already, October in Derwentwater and November in the Hub Lake in Teesdale.
So with some pretty nippy swims in December, January, February and March ahead, it would be really awesome if you could show her your support. (With warming vibes and a pound or two would be great 😉)
Her target is £300.
Dementia Adventure
Until a cure is found we need better ways of living with this condition. Dementia Adventure believes, with the right support, people living with dementia can continue to enjoy outdoor activities, keep active and retain a sense of adventure in their lives. We have trained thousands of individuals to think differently about dementia and enabled hundreds to enjoy a supported dementia holiday - making a huge difference to the wellbeing of people with dementia and their families
