London To Paris 2015 · 26 June 2015 to 29 June 2015 ·
Thankyou so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Approximately 570,000 people currently living in the UK have been diagnosed with breast cancer, making this the most common form. On top of this, each year, over 50,000 women and 350 men are also diagnosed, with 12,000 of these passing away.
As it stands, the chances are someone close to you or someone you know will be diagnosed or affected by breast cancer. This is the reason I wanted to get up and do something to help out.
The challenge itself is a daunting one! We are cycling 380km(236 miles) from London to Paris over the space of three days finishing underneath the Eiffel Tower. Thankfully, the pain will all be worth it when we reach the end, lifting the bikes above our heads, knowing we've helped raise such a huge amount of money for Breast Cancer Campaign.
The charity itself is one of the biggest and only invests in the most pioneering and world-class research. They have played a massive part in the increased rate of people still alive five years after being diagnosed which now stands at 80%. 40 years ago, the equivalent rate stood at only 50%. Furthermore, Breast Cancer Campaign is the only charity to say they can beat breast cancer by 2050. A bold claim which can be realised but they need our help!
