Story
This year I set myself the mission of running my first ever marathon. I started running during lockdown, as something to do to give myself a mental break. It has been a huge benefit to myself both physically and mentally in theses past few years. Now back working full time, I don't get to run as much as I'd like to, so to give myself that extra push I booked on for my first marathon. Its a distance I've never managed before, so figured it would be a good target to really push myself this year.
I've chosen to raise money for Hornsea Inshore Rescue, as they have struggled with raising funds during lockdown. They are a local charity, who rely solely on donations. If you visit or live in Hornsea, and ever get in trouble along the coast, these volunteers are the people who would be there to keep you safe. Putting themselves at risk to help others.
Mission Statement
“Our Mission as a highly committed team of local volunteers is to serve the communities around us by providing a life-saving inshore rescue service and education to all on staying safe whilst at sea."
