As you may know, I helped to start Tommy's, the baby charity, 25 years ago and am still a Trustee. Tommy's exists to save babies' lives by funding research and spreading information about the causes of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth because, astoundingly , around 25% of pregnancies end in premature death.

Since retiring from WPP 18 months ago, I have been working hard with Tommy's to organise their inaugural London Landmarks Half Marathon which takes place this Sunday , the 25th March. It is an absolutely stunning course , there is no snow forecast and we think it should be a great success for our 10,000 runners.

By heart-breaking coincidence, on 8th May 2017 my daughter Georgia gave birth to our first grandchild, Beatrice, who sadly passed away after just three hours. Georgia's was a model pregnancy which made Beatrice's death all the more shocking and made our work for Tommy's so tragically relevant to my family. 

So, the family have all entered the half marathon, along with 100 other members of 'Team Bea', to raise money for Tommy's. Unfortunately, my own injured knee has meant that I have had to withdraw from the race however I will be in Race Control to make sure it all goes smoothly!

I would hugely appreciate whatever you can give to this wonderful, life-saving cause and help Tommy’s drastically reduce the number of families that have to go through what mine has.
