Did you know, one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in any given year. Mental health problems are one of the main causes of the burden of disease worldwide. In the UK, they are responsible for the largest burden of disease - 28% of the burden, compared to 16% each for cancer and heart disease.

Why we have chosen Mind.

Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Their motto is 'We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support an respect'.

Mind rely entirely on our kind donations, which is why it is so important people take on events like this one, to ensure they are being funded.

Why we have chosen to do the Three Peaks Challenge. 

Climbing three of the highest mountains in Britain, all within 24 hours, not only sounds daunting, but also like an impossible challenge. This is exactly why we have chosen to take this on. We will need stamina and a strong mind to successfully complete this trial. We have both been effected by mental health in some kind of way and know how hard it can be to stay mentally strong just dealing with every day life, so for us to complete this together, will be a huge accomplishment and a proud moment not only for ourselves but for each other. 

What your donations will be going towards.

In 2017/18 their total shop turnover was £15.9m. They used £12.8m of this to pay for the cost of sales and operational costs including rent, bills and salaries. They then used the rest, £3.1m of profit, plus other retail income, as unrestricted income to support their work.

For every £1 they received in donations, 73p was spent on their charitable work. In total, Mind spent £25.8m delivering their charitable work.
