Five Full Marathons - Raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity

Edinburgh Marathon Festival Full Marathon 2019 · 26 May 2019 ·
In March 2018, a close friend's life changed in a matter of minutes. Meeting his wife for a family walk with their dog, he got out the car and went dizzy. No symptoms, a fit man, a young man who was a picture of a strong healthy man in his early 40's.
Being admitted to hospital for tests, a brain tumour was diagnosed.
For me personally, I do not know how you deal with this news and the implications on your life. We all take so much for granted and this story shows how you can never take anything for granted.
I have been in total awe and admiration of my friend and his wife and children on how they have tackled this and dealt with this over the past 10 months. No moaning, no feeling sorry for themselves, no 'why us'. Instead they have fought every step and continue to do amazing today.
They are unbelievable role models to all of us and I am so proud of them and proud to be their friend.
I know how much the Brain Tumour Charity have helped them and continue to support them today.
The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours, making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families. They fund pioneering research to increase survival, raise awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours and provide support for everyone affected to improve quality of life.
My 2019 fundraising plan for his charity is to run five full marathons:
For the first three events I am going to aim for a sub 3.35. My PB is a 3.37. This will be an incredibly tough challenge and god knows if I will stay injury free or get anywhere near that time. But I will give it my 100% best shot.
I will bloody crawl them if I have to.
For anyone who knows me, will know that now I have said I will do these events, I will 100% go through the start line and the finish line.
Any donations to my fundraising would be very much appreciated and will make the 9 months of marathon training worth it!
Thank you so much for your support
