Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a group of genetic skin conditions which cause the skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch.
Painful open wounds and sores form where this exceptionally fragile skin is damaged – in some cases, internal linings and organs are also affected. Complications as a result of secondary infection and extensive scarring are factors that people living with EB often have to face.
This is my 3rd 100km challenge in as many years and my 2nd year raising money for Debra. Pulse Community Healthcare employees pledged to raise money for this amazing charity for over a two year period and this event is my personal contribution in a bid to raise as much as we can.
Every year i complete this challenge, the last 10km are usually really painful for me as my feet are normally badly blistered by this point and a loss of a toe nail or two. However, i have a reality check at this point as eventually my feet will heal. Those that suffer with EB have to deal with blistering and discomfort on a daily basis and thought of raising money to help find a cure is what keeps me motivated to the end.
As usual, my dad will be joining me once again :)
