The covid-19 pandemic has had a significant on many of Maidenhead and Windsors charitable and voluntary sector organisations.Some have experienced overwhelming increases in the demand for their support and services. Some have needed to develop new service delivery approaches. Others have had to reduce services or simply stop their service delivery.

13 days ago I decided to start quietly with my challenge, which is to have 150 alcohol free days to show my support for the wonderful work the Maidenhead Magpies did for residents in my ward during lockdown.  Then on Wednesday night, inexplicably, I told my fellow councillors and officers on a public zoom forum.  My way of trying to thank everyone who has worked hard to keep the community afloat and support the most vulnerable
