Story
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page.
Parkinson's UK are doing a charity walk in the Colne Valley Park on Sunday 15 April to publicise Parkinson’s Awareness Week (16-22 April) and raise money.
David and I are walking 12 miles, which is the longest available distance in the event. To some of you this may not seem a massive challenge, but we haven’t walked this sort of distance for quite a while. At least it will be fairly flat, unlike our trek in Nepal (see picture).
I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about 3 years ago and am on the committee of my local branch of Parkinson’s UK. Fortunately the deterioration in my condition is slow and my main symptoms are controlled by drugs.
As you will see from the video below, there is no cure for Parkinson’s, but there is a lot of promising research. Funds are desperately needed to enable more research to take place.
We would be grateful for your support and whatever you feel able to give.
