Story

I am running the Spartan Race for the AKU Society to raise money for the fantastic work they do with patients. They currently need money for an international patient workshop to be help next year.

Alkaptonuria (AKU) is a rare disease, which causes severe, early-onset osteoarthritis. It can be a painful and degenerative disease. Other names for AKU include black bone disease or black urine disease.

I wanted to run the Spartan race because it is different to other races and runs. The reason the race is so challenging is because it takes more than just running, it also includes lifting, climbing, crawling, jumping and more.

I've been in training for over a month now, but I still have a way to go. Please donate.
