Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit this page.

Doug Maxey joined the East Yorkshire Regiment in 1945. He played clarinet in the regimental band and served in Malaya, Palestine, Libya amongst other places. He remembered his 13 years in the Army with great fondness and told lots of exciting stories about his adventures abroad. It was a transformational experience in his life.

Doug sadly passed away on 8th March 2023. We will miss him enormously. We know the Yorkshire Regiment Benevolent Fund is a charity he would support. We would be very grateful if you might consider making a donation instead of funeral flowers.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
