Transcontinental Race 2016 · 31 July 2016

Wheels for Wellbeing encourages and supports disabled people to cycle. We run regular cycle sessions using a wide range of 2,3 and 4 wheeled cycles and provide 1-1 lessons for people who want to learn to ride a bicycle or improve their skills so they can ride on the road with confidence.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

James and I (pictured) are cycling across Europe in the infamous Transcontinental Race http://www.transcontinental.cc where you can follow our progress over 4000km and 50000m of ascent (and descent!) from the 29th July. Even for seasoned cyclists, this is an  enormous challenge - competitors are required to be self sufficient and the clock never stops.

I'm racing in memory of my wonderful father, Malcolm, himself a keen cyclist, who died after a cycling accident in September 2014 and we're raising money for a fantastic local charity, Wheels for Wellbeing. This award-winning charity supports disabled people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the benefits of cycling; last year alone 1200 disabled people and their carers and families learned to cycle with them.

Sincere thanks for your support!
