Story
Over the next 2 months, from Sunday 9th August to Friday 9th October, I will be taking on my Friends Everest Challenge where I will be climbing the equivalent height of Mount Everest – an incredible 29,029 ft on my bike on the hills around my home.
I will be taking on the challenge to raise money for Friends of the Cancer Centre, which is a cause very close to my heart as its work supports patients across Northern Ireland. The charity funds additional staff, vital equipment and invests in research which my patients, and many others, rely on.
I have recently been touched by cancer myself, and spent lock down recovering from surgery. Not only is cycling part of my recovery, but it is also a great opportunity to support the charity in its 35th anniversary year and at a time when it really needs it.
COVID-19 has had a big impact on the charity’s ability to raise money, so I wanted to get back on my bike and do what I can to support this great cause and ensure its work can continue.
The charity needs our support now, more than ever. If you would like to support my Friends Everest Challenge and make a donation it would be greatly appreciated.
