Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have recently discovered fitness through cycling and have lost over 3.5 Stone. It is something I enjoy participating in both socially and for exercise.
Most of us have been impacted in our daily life by the impact of someone suffering from a stroke. It can effect the young and old and the results can be devastating.
I lost a Grandfather I loved dearly when he suffered a life changing stroke. The man I had grown up knowing vanished that day and his quality of life slowly slipped away over the next decade until he passed away.
I have joined with the Stroke Association to ride the London - Surrey 100 mile event on the 4th August this year to raise money for a charity that is essential in supporting vital stroke research. This research has had a real impact on our understanding of stroke, on the way stroke is treated in the UK, and ultimately on the lives of stroke survivors and their families.
I hope to combine raising money for an excellent cause, a physical challenge and hopefully a bit of fun...
I thank you for your support.
John
P.S.
I will make every effort to ensure that I attend and complete this event. However if this is not possible due to unforeseen circumstances it may not be possible to refund donations already received since payments are made directly to the charity. I therefore ask that all donations be made in good faith to a worthwhile cause. If you have concerns about this I am more than happy to receive donations personally that can be returned failing to complete this event.
