The Andy Bolton Deadlift Challenge 2018 · 13 October 2018

We are the largest charity dedicated to kidney research in the UK. Kidney disease ruins and destroys lives. Treatments are gruelling, relentless. There is no cure. We say this isn't good enough. We will transform kidney health. Kidney disease ends here.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be trotting off to Rotherham in a few weeks to compete in The Andy Bolton Deadlift Challenge. The goal of the challenge? To lift as much weight as possible. This is a charity event in support of Kidney Research UK.

(This is not to raise funds to pay for my entry fee, accommodation, nor transport. All money raised goes directly to charity.)

Here are some facts from their Kidney Research UK:

▪60,000 people die prematurely each year because of chronic kidney disease
▪64,000 people are being treated for end-stage renal failure
▪A kidney transplant only lasts on average between 10-15 years before you need a new one
▪More than 5,000 people are waiting for a kidney, yet  only around 3,000 transplants are carried out each year.

I see patients with kidney disease on a daily basis and am witness to the impact it has on their lives. This is why I want to help raise funds for Kidney Research UK.
