Hospice care eases the physical and emotional pain of death and dying. Letting people focus on living, right until the end. But too many people miss out on this essential care. Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever.

Story

I ran the London Marathon this year to raise support for Help the Hospices. The last six miles were tough but I managed to stumble home in 3h 37m 26s.

My experience of seeing my father die from dementia in 2009 brought home personally to me how important it is for dying people to receive the very best support and palliative care. Dad was beautifully cared for, not just physically but spiritually as well.

My work with Christian Medical Fellowship and Care Not Killing however has underlined for me that not all receive the same good standard of care. Help the Hospices are genuinely trying to change that and have my full support.
