Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

It all began in a moment of madness when I suggested to Declan, we should climb Mount Kilimanjaro. To which he laughed at me and said “you are too fat to climb Mount Kilimanjaro” but suggested I should tackle the Three Peaks Challenge before I pursue climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Since I had never heard of the challenge, I decided to research what it was. After my research I discovered it involved climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England, and Wales, within 24 hours.  I was intrigued by the challenge and had a desire to test myself physically. Thus, I accepted the challenge. Knowing full well I would need a support system to complete such a demanding challenge. I was able to persuade a few of my friends to take up the challenge with me. As a result, the following people will be taking part -

•    Ethan Wookey
•    Declan George
•    Duduza Ziba
•    Jamie Mapletoft
•    Tom Dixon
•    Ed Scott
•    Dan O’brien
•    Lee Lightowler

On the 19th of August, we will be taking part in the 3 Peaks Challenge. You will see that we are raising money for a fantastic charity along the way. We have chosen to raise funds for Dementia UK. Dementia UK supplies nursing support for families and carers who look after people suffering from dementia and they also provide specialist training for doctors and nurses who care for patients with dementia.

All donations are welcome big or small & will all go directly to the charity. Please help us in our efforts to support a worthy cause.

3 PEAKS CHALLENGE

  1.  The challenge starts in Scotland at Ben Nevis, which at, 1,344 metres, or 4,409 ft is the tallest of the three.
  2.  From there the expedition will drive south into the Lake District where they climb Scafell Pike (978 m, 3,209 ft).
  3. The final of the three is the Welsh mountain, Snowdon, standing at no less than1,085 m, 3,560 ft

Additionally, we would like to thank VitaSports for sponsoring the challenge.
