Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The Gwynedd and Anglesey Aspergers and Autism Support Group is a charity that helps teenagers and young adults in Anglesey and Gwynedd. Amoungst many activities such as art sessions, outdoor activities, swimming sessions they also run a weekly youth club in Bangor. Every years funding for the youth club gets cut back and I would like to help raise some money to help keep the youth running and contribute to some of the activities the charity organises for its members.

I have just turned 13 and I am going to try and ski over 100kms (my dad says we are going for 160km which is 100 miles) but the average skier does about 30kms in a day. I will have to do over 3 times that and dad wants me to go for over 5 times! I am going to do this on Wednesday 14 February. The ski lift opens at 7am and closes at 8pm and we aim to ski from opening to closing. We will use an app on our phones to keep track of our distance I will be in charge of this because my Dad says at 13 I know more about technology than he does!

UP DATE 13 FEBRUARY:

Today was a gorgeous blue sky day in Trysil so we brought the challenge forward 24 hours. But -12 degrees at 9am and the temperature didn't get much past -5. First on the lift at 9am we knocked off the first 20kms in 2 hours. But the blue sky seemed to have brought the whole of Norway out so we ducked and dived to avoid any lift queues. Euan skied from 9am through to 8pm clocking up 104kms, 17,000m of ascent and we skied a whole variety of runs - mainly reds and blacks with quite alot of off piste including the steepest run in northern Europe. By 4.30pm he had clocked 75 kms - then evening skiing and just blue runs with some off piste - 15kms in the next hour and a half then we stopped for some dinner. the final 14kms were quick though knocked off in 1 hour between 6.45 and 7.45 finishing for a well earned apple juice (Dad had a beer!). Max speed was 90km/h :)
