Street Action is a UK charity that partners with local agencies in Africa who work directly with street children, particularly those run by former street children. We raise support, build connections and advocate around the issues regarding street children.

Story

If you're taking the time to read this you may well have been one of the kind people who have sponsored me on one of my past cycle rides. Yes, it's that time of year again and I'm getting back on my road bike and cycling to Amsterdam. Partly for fun, but more importantly and on a serious note, I'm part of a team of 16 cyclists who have joined this year's Street Children Cycle Challenge (SCCC) to cycle 300 miles, across 4 countries to raise money for the brilliant street children charity Street Action and their partner in Burundi New Generation. For the past four years SCCC have supported the fantastic work of New Generation and we've collectively raised over £55,000. We want to add to that total.

This year we are hoping to raise over £25,000 which will pay for 12 former street children and their carers to live in a new rehabilitation home. This is part of a bigger project that Street Action is raising money for, but if can reach our target it will mean that they can run the first house for the next three years.

My part is simple enough and so can yours be. By simply donating through this site all the money raised will go directly to the charity. SCCC don't take a cut and if you're a tax payer you can gift aid your donation and Street Action will get 25% extra.

Thank you for reading this and thanks for your donation.
