ELAINE'S LONDON MARATHON

Virgin London Marathon 2014 · 13 April 2014 ·
The 19th March is my Dad's 75th birthday. Dad shares my love of all things sporty and most especially running. When I was a teenager, Dad drove me to races around the UK every weekend; helping me to find lost spiked running shoes on muddy cross-country courses and standing knee-deep in snow to cheer me on. In his 75th year, I am running the London Marathon on the 13th April to celebrate his birthday, raise money for a charity important to my Dad and ‘for the hell of it’. Literally.
I hope to raise at least £1000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. My Dad works tirelessly for Macmillan. It was Macmillan that cared for one of my parents' very best friends, Aline, who died a year ago. What Macmillan does is amazing. You can read more about Macmillan by following the link on this page.
My firm, EY will match any donations up to £500. Working for EY with our global Consumer Products clients means my training schedule has been a geographic ‘A-to-Z’ literally from Arizona to Zurich with Barcelona, Cincinnati, Dublin, Frankfurt, Geneva, Herzogenaurach (at the adidas World of Sport), New York, Paris, Stockholm in-between; running in desert, snow and the rainiest English January in history.
Thanks Very Much for your donation, Happy Birthday Dad and Thanks to all of you that have helped me especially Steve (long suffering husband), Arabella (daughter and cheerleader-in-chief) and Louise Field (personal trainer and good friend).
