Our Father had a long battle with his cancer, both lung, then spreading to his brain, he remained positive and cheerful, never complaining and just getting on with it, until he passed away on 24th February 2011 in Salisbury hospicecare. The hospice are fantastic, providing both pallative care and a unit, and that is why I am doing a midnight walk on 4th June 2011-this will be 10 miles, finishing at dawn (if I am lucky!). Dad truely lived by the hospice motto

'Putting life into days, not days into life'
