Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hitting the grand old age of 50, I felt the need to lose some weight and try to get reasonably fit, and after a bit of effort, and some five stone lighter, I felt I was half way there, and able to accept possibly my biggest challenge, a 55 mile charity cycle event around the Isle of Arran on Saturday 26 May 2018.

Now I must admit having not been on a bike since I was at Primary School, and that was clearly not yesterday, even the thought of this had me breaking out in a cold sweat! Nevertheless I intend giving it a go and have been training as hard as I can, and am determined to complete the full 55 miles of this challenge, and hopefully raise a few pounds for some excellent charities. I am really looking forward to the cycle although I know there will be lots of ups and downs, literally, on the round-Arran route. I know it will be quite a challenge but here goes!

The event is organised by the Rangers Charity Foundation, and I would welcome your support in making a donation, no matter the amount, in support of the Charities that it works with and supports, which includes both national charities and charitable organisations in our local communities in Glasgow and the West of Scotland. (Charity Registration No. SC033287)

Where your donations will go:-
The Foundation works with charity partners each year to fund projects that have a lasting and significant impact internationally, nationally and in the local community. This year the Foundation is working with:-
· Unicef, the world’s leading children’s charity.
· Scottish Autism
· The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity - Schiehallion Appeal
· Glasgow City Mission & the Simon Community Scotland
Unicef is the leading charity for children in emergencies and responds to hundreds of humanitarian emergencies every year.
Scottish Autism is a national autism charity that helps those diagnosed with autism to lead full and enriched lives and become valuable members of their communities.
The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity (formerly Yorkhill Children’s Charity) exists to help sick children get better and the Schiehallion Appeal aims to help Scotland’s kids beat cancer.
Glasgow City Mission and the Simon Community Scotland work tirelessly to combat the causes and effects of homelessness in Glasgow, providing food, clothing and shelter.
