Story

In January 2019 my father was diagnosed with MND.  He led a quiet life and didn't want the attention, so I didn't share who he was publically.  In December 2019 he passed away.  Research goes on and one day soon we will know a world where MND doesn't mean the end for those diagnosed with it.

In September 2019 I kayaked for the event below, the GB rowing team also took part and broke the world record that day.

Loch Ness is 22 miles long and over 260m deep, with visibility to a depth of 4inches.  Woman(and man)-powered boats will race the length of it in a feat of insane brutal gallantry

I was among them in my single kayak hoping to make it to the end in one piece. I made it, 2nd out of 5 other kayaks, with a time of 4hrs 42mins.

I did this somewhat insane challenge in order to raise funds for research into neurological conditions for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
I saw first hand the realities of the disease.
I firmly believe that, like with so many other diseases, with research, a cure for Motor Neuron Disease will be found.
