John O'Groats to Lands End Cycle! · 2 June 2014

When life gets tough or it feels like there's nowhere to turn, Barnardo's is here. We make sure children and young people feel safer, happier and more hopeful by directly supporting them with specialist services across the UK. We have been changing childhoods and changing lives for over 150 years.

Story

On Monday 2nd June, 3 naïve individuals will set off on a cycle from the Northern-most tip of mainland Scotland to the most Southern point of Cornwall. This journey of 900miles from John O’Groats to Lands End will test every part of us as we attempt to complete this ridiculous challenge in 4 days, averaging over 220miles per day. On day 3 we will be joined by EY ENERGY colleagues as we form our very own peloton to tackle the Midlands from Preston to Bristol.

The purpose: We are doing this to raise money for Barnado’s charity who work with vulnerable children to help them escape abuse. A small donation goes a long way, and we are hoping to raise £3,000 to support them in continuing their good work.

The Team: Freddie Comber, Charlie Frank and Sam Pictor are the three antagonists that have set their sights on completing the cycle and achieving the fundraising target. The Day 3 contingent include Mick Bardella, Chris Gardner, Rich Edwards, Kurt Johnson, Ed Gray and Alex Thompson.

We would encourage anyone who so wishes to join us for any stretches of the route, as all support would be appreciated! Be this by bike or car or any other form of transport, please talk to any of the team about more route information and we can make it happen.
