On July 15th I'm running the Race to the Stones, a 100km non-stop ultramarathon along Britain's oldest path (The Ridgeway). Extremely tough? You bet it is. But for an organisation that does hugely valuable work in supporting the families of those taken hostage abroad. The help includes legal, financial advisory, mental health and practical help they need to cope with having their loved one kidnapped. I have a very personal connection to the charity having experienced a family member taken hostage some years back and the charity being set up and now run by my sister Rachel who now runs the US based Hostage US.
