Thames Path Challenge 2019 · 7 September 2019 to 8 September 2019 ·

Dog A.I.D. changes lives by enabling physically disabled people across the UK to train their own pets to become qualified assistance dogs, supported by volunteer trainers. These dogs increase independence by helping with practical tasks, building confidence, reducing isolation and the need for care.

Story

I'm taking on the Thames Path Challenge this September with a group of colleagues. We are raising money for Dog A. I. D. a charity close to our former CEO Michael Spurr and who deserve the support for the great work they do.

With the loss of my mum since agreeing to take on the challenge I am also going to match fund 50% of any money raised to give to St Leonards Hospice, York. Their care and compassion is much deserving of support. They were there for us when we needed them.

The Thames Path Challenge is a continuous 100km walk. I'm a keen walker but this is massively different from anything I've ever done, being three times longer than I have ever walked and likely to be day and night over 30hrs continuous walking. I don't know whether I'll make it but your support will spur me on!

The more I raise the greater the pressure to get over the line (& I'm going to need all the help I can get!) Thank you.
