Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is a big one!
In 2012 my friends, the Russells, had a beautiful baby boy, Harry. Unfortunately it was soon evident that Harry had difficulties with certain things like his sight and hearing.
Harry is now 2 years old and Julie, Mark and their 3 year old girl Ella, have recently been given a diagnosis for Harry, a rare Mitochondrial Disorder.
Long story short, Harry is, at times, a very poorly little boy. He suffers seizures and any illnesses that others can cope with like the common cold really take there toll on Harry.
This little boy makes me smile every time I see him as he is such a little trooper with a fighting spirit and and at our children's parties you can tell that he loves whats going on around him.
But I have also seen him when he's not feeling to well and admitted to hospital. Its heartbreaking to see him struggle. And this is why I wanted to do something to show my support to my friends.
I spoke with Julie and Mark about this and asked what charity they would like me to run for.
They have just started to use Keech cottage Hospice. This Hospice provides essential treatment and support not only to the children that are suffering with severe and mostly life limiting conditions but to their families. Julie and Mark both realise that the Keech is going to be a big part of their lives for many years and had no doubt that this would be the perfect charity to raise money for.
So on the 12th April, 2015, I will, with great pride, be running the Brighton Marathon for the Keech Cottage Hospice. This is going to be my toughest challenge, its 26.2 miles with lots of hills. Its going to be a painful day but worth every mile if I can raise a little for this very special place close to my friends hearts.
Please donate what you can so we can help to give care to children like Harry and his family.
Loads of love,
Ed
