Story
Many of you may recall that last year, in the run up to Easter, the Edinburgh Ashlars asked members in the Province to contribute to our Easter egg collection. The response exceeded our wildest expectations and we collected over 400 Easter eggs and raised over £1,100 for the children’s charity, CCLASP.
Children with Cancer and Leukemia, Advice and Support for Parents (CCLASP) is an Edinburgh based charity that was set up over 20 years ago to help support children with Cancer and Leukemia and their families. They provide an outstanding support service for thousands of children and their families in Edinburgh each year.
We would love to help put a smile on the faces of some of these children again this Easter, and so we are asking that Brethren donate to our fundraiser. We have taken the decision to donate funds rather than collect eggs this year to minimise travel under lockdown conditions. The funds will go directly to the charity who can apply them as they see fit in the run up to Easter.
Any support would be greatly appreciated.
CCLASP provide specialist and tailored support to families across Scotland affected by childhood cancer or leukaemia and help to make children's' special wishes come true. Normal life stops when you receive the devastating news that your child has cancer and we try to limit the consequences this can have financially, emotionally, and practically. Our job? To try and raise smiles when times are difficult and arrange the care and support that is crucial, whether it’s free bespoke transport to hospital appointments, or just somebody to talk to.
